Title: Editor, INFOFISH
Salary: Commensurate with experience/ qualifications
Terms of reference:
The incumbent will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He/she will be responsible for the following duties:
- Preparing, editing and proof reading of in-house magazine.
- Evaluating and selecting manuscripts for industry magazine.
- Adhering to style guidelines and making sure that all materials of communication match these guidelines.
- Recommending improvements in all editorial materials and ensuring that they are correct.
- Checking manuscripts and other items for readability, style and agreement with editorial policy.
- Sourcing articles and maintaining regular networking with contributing authors.
- Ensuring the production process runs smoothly and liaising with design and production departments.
- Writing headlines and captions for pictures and layout page designs.
- Writing and editing for other assignments of the organization – market reports, press coverage, interviews etc.
Qualifications:
- Possess a University degree in Mass Communication (Journalism) or related field.
- Be a national of a member country of INFOFISH.
Age:
The age limit might be extended beyond 40 years, in case of highly qualified and experienced candidates as on 31 May 2011
Skills
- An excellent command of English
- Ability to carry out desk research
- Must have good IT skills
- Able to make decisions
- Have a good eye for detail, accuracy and general appearance
- A good team player with highly effective communication skills and experience in copy editing.
Ability to recognize and correct style errors. Rewriting and reframing editorial content so that it reads well and conveys the message
- Creativity.
Knowledge (preferable)
- Understanding of the target audience
- Understanding of fish markets around the globe
- Knowing what has been published previously in this field
Experience:
Essential: At least 5 years of experience in a publishing house or similar organization.

Title: Technical Officer (Post Harvest Handling & Quality Assurance), INFOFISH
Salary: Commensurate with experience/ qualifications
Terms of Reference:
The Technical Officer will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be responsible for the following duties at INFOFISH:
- Compile articles, reports and presentations on technical issues independently;
- Undertake training and dissemination activities;
- Provide advisory services in fish technology, safety & hygiene and aquaculture.
- Any other duties as instructed by the Director
Qualifications:
- Be a national of a Member Country* of INFOFISH;
- The age limit might be extended beyond 40 years, in case of highly qualified and experienced candidates as on 31 May 2011
- Possess an educational level equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in fisheries, food science, fish processing technology or a related field, preferably with a postgraduate degree;
- Have at least 8 years experience in a field related to fish technology, safety and hygiene and have a working knowledge of aquaculture.

Description of duties:
The incumbent will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He/she will be responsible for the following duties:
- All personnel matters - recruitment, entitlement and general supervision of staff
- Financial matters – maintain full set of accounts, budgets and accounting procedures
- Procurements – liaise with suppliers/printers
- Event management – organizing international conferences/ training workshops/ seminars
- Coordinate projects and execute other administrative duties
Qualifications:
University degree in business administration, or related field
