PROFILE
YANTAI MOON GROUP Co. Ltd ("MOON") was
founded in 1956. When the people of MOON introduced
their first refrigerating compressor, a new era was
opened up. From then on, as a result of several
generations of MOON people's continuous pursuit, the
company has always been leading the industry in the
manufacturing of refrigerating and air conditioning  equipment and
has grown into a large enterprise utilizing excellent
technology, advanced development capability and a highly
successful industrial structure and product arrangement.
By the end of 2001, MOON owned 24 subsidiary companies
(including one listed company and eight sino-foreign
joint ventures) and 4000 staff and workers. With the
total assets of 1.5 billion Yuan, MOON is one of the one
hundred largest and most profitable machinery
enterprises in China.
MOON always maintains the
primary importance of its science and technology. For
many years, MOON has insisted on combining the
self-development along with the introduction of new
technology, joint venture and cooperation and has formed
six product lines:
(1) Central air conditioning
products: mainly consisting of all-closed and
half-closed screw chillers, LiBr absorption chillers and
reciprocating chillers. They have been the winning bid
on many critical projects, e.g. Gezhouba power station,
Capital Airport and China Century Altar etc.
(2) Industry refrigerating
products: mainly consisting of reciprocating
refrigerating compressors, screw refrigerating
compressors, evaporating condenser and ammonia
separating plate exchangers. The quality of the products
in this area meet the advanced international standards.
 (3) Freezing
and refrigerating equipment for farm products
processing: These are mainly food vacuum freezing and
drying equipment, air control containers, continuous
individual freezers, fruit and vegetable fast
pre-refrigerating equipment, grain chillers, C/A,
assembled cold air storage etc. MOON is the largest
manufacturer to produce fruit and vegetable
refrigerating equipment.
(4) Plastic profiled and pipe
material: MOON has the annual capability to produce
10,000 tons of plastic profiled material, 10,000 tons of
pipe material and 50,000m2 of plastic steel doors &
windows.
(5) Cast
products: MOON has the annual capability to produce
15,000 tons and to process 5,000 tons of
cast;
(6) Industrial boiler, high-pressure oxygen chamber and
others: These include coal-fired boilers, oil-fired
boilers, gas-fired boilers, medical high-pressure oxygen
chambers, asbestos products, heat exchanger and metal
components etc.
 MOON persists in the
quality policy of "continuous improvement to make the
work perfect and keeping the customer satisfied". Among
the Chinese machinery refrigeration enterprises, MOON is
the first one to obtain the quality authentication of
ISO9001: 94 issued by the Norway Classification Society
(DNV). The brands of "MOON" and "YANJI" have been given
excellent product of ministry, national silver and
international gold awards many times. Its leading
product, the 12.5 series refrigerating compressor, has
been awarded the "Shandong Famous Brand" continuously
for six years, awarded the "Chinese Machinery Famous
Brand" in 1998 and recommended as an "Excellent Domestic
Products" by the China Quality Inspection
Association.
MOON is also actively implementing
investment promotion in order to speed the enterprise's
internationalization. Up to now, MOON has set up 8
sino-foreign joint ventures to move forward rapidly in
the product technology and stay abreast of international
management capabilities. The products of MOON are not
only very saleable in China, but also in another 20
countries and areas, e.g. Japan, Korea, Russia, East
Europe, Africa and South America. In recent years, the
scale of MOON is increasing at an annual percentage rate
of 30%.

improving the quality of people's life", stay abreast of
the world's advanced technology to realize the aim of
