• Post-marketing vigilance including product sampling and laboratory testing, inspection of production and distribution facilities, investigation and law enforcement;

• Involved in a network with USFDA, EU certification system to harmonise the national standards to be at par with regional (eg APEC) and international standards (eg. CODEX)

• Trying to coordinate implementation of Good Aquaculture Practices (GAP) and HACCP in processing plants
• Certificate of Origin issued by Trade Officer of local governments
• Processors maintain documents that indicate the source of raw material and buyer of the product
• Well established quarantine system for import of brood stock and ornamental fish
• Industry trying to comply with government regulations on quality control, HACCP and traceability

National Agency of Food and Drug Control

• Developed a plan for integrated food safety system
• Initiated the "Food Watch" programme where they monitor the foods marketed locally for the presence of banned additives, indicator and pathogenic microorganisms.
