| Export/Import
Policy |
There is no solid and
clear policy with regards to seafood. The main policy related to
seafood is obtaining market access through regional and bilateral
agreements. The country's fishery products enjoy free access to
certain markets such as in the EU under the Lome Agreement (ACP
countries).
|
| Export/Import
Licensing |
The Department of
Fisheries, Customs and Excise Department of the MOF and the
Ministry of Health are separately involved in issuing licenses and
certificates for export and import of fishery products. The DOF
through the Licensing, Surveillance and Enforcement division
issues licenses for fish processing establishments,
exporters/traders and export permits for very consignment of
exported fishery products.
