Bioterrorism Act
Following the events of Sept. 11, 2001, the Bioterrorism act was enforced in a move to enhance the security of the United States. The law was signed in June 12, 2002. Country of Origin Labeling
Under this rule, all products such as beef, lamb, pork, fish, perishable agricultural commodities and peanuts requires country of origin labeling. The program implementation is the responsibility of US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service.
